The International Society for Horticultural Science (ISHS) is the world’s leading independent organisation for horticultural science, connecting a global network of researchers, academic institutions, and industry partners. The MODEL-IT Symposium series was established in the late 1990s to explore the application of modelling technologies across the horticultural supply chain. Since its inception in the Netherlands, the symposium has been hosted in leading horticultural centres around the world, including New Zealand, Belgium, Spain, Italy, and Germany, fostering collaboration between researchers and industry stakeholders.

Following more than 25 years of success, the 8th International Symposium on Applications of Modelling as an Innovative Technology in the Horticultural Supply Chain (MODEL-IT) will be hosted in Stellenbosch, South Africa, bringing together global experts to explore the future of innovation, digitisation, and sustainability in horticulture.
